Consumer Rights
Last updated · June 2026
When you buy a vehicle from LMS Trading Group Ltd as a consumer (not in the course of a business), you are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in addition to anything written on your invoice or warranty.
Vehicles must be:
- Of satisfactory quality — taking into account age, mileage, price and what we have told you about the vehicle.
- Fit for purpose — including any specific purpose you told us about before purchase.
- As described — matching the advert, photos, video walkaround and any written specification.
Short-term right to reject (30 days)
If a fault that breaches the above is present at the time of supply and is discovered within 30 days, you may be entitled to reject the vehicle and receive a full refund. Reasonable use deductions do not apply within the first 30 days.
Right to repair or replacement
After 30 days, and within the first 6 months, you have the right to ask for a repair or replacement. If the repair fails or is not possible, you may be entitled to a refund — a deduction for use can be made.
Distance selling (online / phone sales)
Where the entire sale is concluded at distance (you never visit us in person before paying the balance), you may have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Vehicles delivered before that period ends can be returned in line with the regulations; reasonable charges for use, mileage and any deterioration may apply. This right does not apply to vehicles built or sourced to your bespoke specification.
What to do
Contact us as soon as you spot an issue so we can investigate — see our Complaints Procedure. Keep the vehicle safe and stop driving it if you believe it is unsafe.
